Before Intravenous Anesthesia

•  Absolutely nothing to eat or drink for eight (8) hours prior to your procedure.
• A responsible adult ( >18 years of age) MUST accompany you to the office, MUST remain in the office during the procedure, and MUST be able to drive the you home. Please inform your driver of these conditions as your procedure will be cancelled if the above are not satisfied.
• You should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.
•  Please wear loose fitting clothing with short sleeves, and low-heeled shoes.
• Spectacles, contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures must be removed at the time of surgery.
• Refrain from smoking for 24 hours prior to anesthesia.
• Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup, or nail polish on the day of surgery.
• If you have an illness such as a cold, sore throat, stomach or bowel upset, please notify the office.
• If you take routine oral medications, please check with Dr. Walcott prior to your surgical date for instructions.
• Please arrive 15-20 mins before scheduled time to complete paperwork and finances. This will help us to ensure your procedure starts on time.
